42nouns.com better get out of the gate soon! I've already soft-launched my competing Web 2.0 power play, numbr.com, with a wide array of REST-based services including avogadro.numbr.com, myip.numbr.com, week.numbr.com, rfc.numbr.com, and random.numbr.com. For our web framework we're using PHP on a Shingle, but may switch to Django.

Paul,

Lua on Bobsled Run, et al... Genius! I like it... I would never be interested in learning something called "Erlang", but "Erlang on Splash Mountatin"?-- now that's something I just got to see!

Thinking this over, I'm not so sure about the choice of Ruby. It seems so Web 2.0.0. 42nouns.com really should differentiate itself as Web 2.0.3 at least. So I'm thinking that you should try something like Lua on Bobsled Run or Haskell on Alpine Slide or Erlang on Splash Mountain.

This is eerie. Earlier today my idea for a "Huester" service where you share your favorite colors with tags and RSS feeds and Ajax got shot down... because there are two of them already.

Anyway, I see three things missing:

1. Bookmarklets. You might need a cute new verb to describe what one does to a noun with the bookmarklet.

2. An API and developer resources. Even if 95% of your users have no idea what they are. Major cred. No SOAP.

3. Friending. Friending is a must.

If you put me on your board of advisors I promise to include a prominent disclaimer every time I mention 42nouns.com. ("Disclaimer: I am on the advisory board of 42nouns.com, which is awesome.")
